8:00 PM „Sherlock Holmes and People of Tomorrow”, dir. Tomasz Gwincinski (polish premiere)
The film was made by Bogusław Schaeffer’s student and composer of contemporary music Tomasz Gwincinski. Forms of this music were translated to contemporary film narrative. The result is a separate feature work that lasts 106 minutes. Tomasz Gwincinski also wrote the script, which was created according to literary standards of OULIPO group. The film itself, however, is not an expression of purely abstract domain, but the means the maker used were applied deliberately in order to give the sense of the story as faithfully as possible. The story is an anatomy of an investigation, in which Sherlock Holmes participates. The aim of the investigation is to solve the mystery of a certain human head. The film was show in the scenery of Lower Silesia, in places important for the history of this region such as: Radomierzyce castle, Czocha castle, Lubiąż abbey and other. Thanks to that the film has a specific atmosphere, just as if the action is taking place in a closed zone. The film was shot in November 2013 and it was finished in May 2014.

Music for the film was created by Fred Frith, who has been cooperating with the director for many years and often appears in the history of Mózg.
Werner Penzel was born in Germany in 1950. In the 70’s he worked and lived with the Brazilian theatre company Oficina in Rio de Janeiro, he accompanied Living Theatre in Europe, studied at the Munich Film Academy and travelled a lot. 10:30 PM Eli Keszler & Rashad Becker (concert)
Eli Keszler's work is all about spaces. The New York-based drummer and composer continually grapples with the interaction between sound and environment, transforming physical and virtual spaces through his performances, recordings, and installations. In addition to performances within his installations, he’s played extensively as a solo artist and in collaboration with the likes of Ashley Paul, C. Spencer Yeh, Loren Connors, and the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra. He has released recordings with labels including Berlin’s PAN, Burlington, Vermont’s NNA Tapes, and his own REL records. Keszler’s playing is imagistic, and his pieces convey a spectrum of emotional dynamics that range from the epic (think gamelan with tribalistic tom explosions) to the intimate (“house noises” you might hear while lying in bed). A player of polyglot inspiration, Keszler takes cues from almost everything that surrounds him—drawings, buildings, other drummers, rocks, machines.
Rashad Becker is a composer and musician residing in Berlin. His compositions are multi-layered narratives populated by an ensemble of sonic entities; some are smug, some shy, some are agitators and others are ready to surrender. Often there’s a tragiccomical touch, like a cartoon version of what could be a requiem from a dream (or just as much as a fertility dance from another dimension). Recent works include the cycle “Traditional Music Of Notional Species” released across two volumes on PAN, and a multi-part work called “Based On A True Story” that derives scores from historical occurrences in a sort of “sonic staging” in this context, he is currently commissioned by New York-based ensemble Alarm Will Sound and Derlin string ensemble Kaleidoskop. Rashad is mainly active as a solo artist but finds himself in a series of permanent collaborations alongside Eli Keszler, Moritz von Oswald and as a member of the formation Moleglove. Other and more sporadic collaborators have been Okkyung Lee, Andre Vida, Ashley Paul, and Valerio Tricoli.

8:00 PM METROSCAN (concert)
METROSCAN is a futuristic audiovisual work dealing with the subject of the megapolis, its informational speed, multipolarity and other post-urbanist vectors. The title “Metroscan” and the idea behind it are based on the multifaceted origin of the word “metro” (in Ancient Greek metron stands for measure). It is connected to metropolis, concepts of measuring, movement and transportation. All of those concepts are “scanned” into highly concentrated sounds and visuals - a certain compressed informational avalanche of a large city, which through the means of digital technologies is melted into a purified, fluctuating aesthetic experience. The music of this piece uses a very broad scale of frequencies and often balances between experimental and pulsating electronic music. The visuals are based on the conversion of the data of current sound into an image that is restored in real time. It is characteristic of very fast change of elements, lush images and unpredictability.
